Main Activities

  • A one-day retreat held in May marks the beginning of the year of activities of the Sevika Sanghom.
  • Members meet regularly for weekly Bible Study conducted by Achens, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and also join in the fasting prayer held at church on Friday mornings.
  • Month end meetings are held at member’s homes or at church. Bible messages and informative talks on relevant topics are shared. These meetings also serve as an occasion for good fellowship.
  • Members look forward to the annual picnic, as a time of joy and relaxation from their busy routines.
  • Sevika Sanghom maintains a Library in the Church for their members.
  • Pakalveedu- During Onam, an annual get together is celebrated our Senior members followed by an Onasadhya.
  • Members are encouraged to grow their own kitchen gardens. Our Achens select the prize winners after an annual inspection.
  • In the month of September, Sevika Sanghom day is observed, by members taking an active part in the worship service. During the Sevika Sanghom week, members visit fellow members who are elderly and sick.

Mission and Charity work

Sevika Sanghom’s commitment to bring relief to the needy, is by providing financial support for education, marriage, housing and medical aid. An annual cake sale held every December, provides additional funds for these purposes.

One child of the Girideepthi Tribal Hostel and two children of the Balika Mandiram are being sponsored by Sharon Sevika Sanghom. We also organize mission tours to our mission centres.

Sharon Mar Thoma Sevika Sanghom functions under the Ernakulam-Aluva-Kochi Centre. Our senior Achen, Rev. T.C. Thomas is the Chief Editor of ‘Kerigma’ the Vibrant newsletter of Centre Sevika Sanghom member Mrs. Beulah Jacob is the Centre Secretary.
